Jammu
northern state of Indian sub-continent which is also known as ‘City of Temples’
because one can see here several holy shrines related to any mythological
legend. People come here to pay their tribute and get blessings from god. City
also got another name Jammu Tawi because it is situated on banks of Tawi River

km away from Samba. According mythology when Devi Sati cession to Yagya held by
her father and was burnt totally Lord Shiva took her body and traveled. Lord
Vishnu knows that anger and grief of god will destroy this world so he told his
Sudarshan to cut Devi Sati body into pieces. When Sudarshan was doing his work
body parts of goddess fell to 51 regions of world from which this is also known
to be one because here Devi’s smallest finger has fallen.

Darbar is located in high hills of Trikuta parvat in Katra district. Millions
of devotees come every year to pay obeisanc. Devi Durga is worshiped in three
forms namely Devi Lakshmi, Devi Saraswati and Devi Kali. One has to trek at 13
km height and in this long distance they see various other temples such as
Charan Paduka, Ban Ganga, ArdhKumari, Sanjhi Chatat and Hatthi Mattha.
